Deep magenta madness!

Hello, good afternoon readers!  Boy it's hot!  A little too hot to be working - or even doing anything for that matter!

It's the peak of the wedding season for florists, photographers and cake makers, however not for us.  Our peak season is 6 - 12 months before then as we create couples' wedding invitations giving their guests a first glimpse in anticipation of their special day.  However, we have been busy creating some lovely table stationery for couples for their actual days.   So, without hesitation I'm sure you'd love to see some photos (!), the first of which was us getting creative.  The bride couldn't decide what she liked until she saw some beautiful hearts on our page so Daren, the graphic designer got going and created very similar to be included on her stationery.  Printed on cream card, her colour was deep magenta, almost red wine colour.  When we printed a try-out we decided that the heart needed just something more to finish it off so I decided to add a cream handmade bow.  This is the result:

These are their place names, the heart is cut in such a way so it 'pops' up.  They have guests' menu options on the reverse too.

Feeling blue .... and a little bit cream ....

We've done lots of wedding stationery this year and the way our diary is filling up, we will be just as busy next year too which is all good - it pays the bills!

One design we have created is a little bit different.  We called it 'Pin Cushion' design, because of the look of the beautiful scattered pearls that look like the top of pins in a pin cushion!  The couple in question's colour scheme was navy, cream and they decided to have pearls with their day and evening invitations.

Queen for the Day! Mum's 80th Birthday ... making memories

We only have a few days until the end of June and in our family, another birthday, our eldest will be 24 next week.  Unbelievable how this time goes, I remember when our two girls were so little and enjoyed taking them to school and nursery, coming home and having lovely summer evenings at home in our paddling pool at the time, at this time of year.  In May we also celebrated my Mum's 80th birthday.  It took some organising as I was adamant it was going to be a surprise so I started putting my organisational skills into place!  We booked the venue, a beautiful historic building in the heart of Meopham, great for all sorts of celebrations www.nursteadcourt.co.uk.  We decided on afternoon tea for everyone and as it is the year of Our Majesty's 90th Birthday, I decided that my precious Mum was also going to be Queen for the day! So that was the theme.  And we did her invitations ... of course!

We wanted to make it so memorable, not every day your Mum is 80, so we employed a brilliant photographer Kirsty www.photographybykirsty.co.uk who spent a couple of hours taking some fantastic photos of our family and friends. We had a fantastic cake made by Karen www.icedimagescakes.co.uk all in the vein of Queen for the Day.  Not only did it look stunning, it tasted delicious!  Of course, the day wouldn't be complete without Mum's first Great-Grandchild and our first Grandchild, the beautiful Sofia so we had to get some photographs of her also.  It was a fantastic day, the sky was blue, the surroundings were absolutely gorgeous and to top it all Mum had just one of the best days.  In fact, everyone did!
Superb views of surrounding countryside
 from the historic house
What a stunning cake - certainly a cake for Queen for a Day!
Everyone enjoying their afternoon tea

Cake, cake and more cake!
Always smiling for Great-Grandad!

I cannot believe it's June ......!

Time is just flying, this year is just flying!  We've had some pretty hectic days and nights with wedding stationery.  It's been so full on and these last few weeks we have made some beautiful, very different wedding stationery for our lovely couples.  Today I am going to share some photos of some of the invitations for one of our couples getting married next week, Hazel & Mark.  They were chuffed to bits with their stationery and we were pleased how it all panned out too.  Enjoy!

With beautiful quality gold glitter card and blush pink wording to set it off, all laid in a cream pocketfold invitation.  Finished off with a wrap, all handmade by me.

Hazel knew the type of font she wanted but couldn't name it, only 'Fairytale' and after an extensive search we came up with this font.  We think it sets off these invitations beautifully and we and Hazel and Mark were very happy with the finished result.

Thank You

Our busy busy time is coming to an end although we still have orders to fulfil, we've now completed all the invitations for the summer months and into September.  Now's the time for on-the-day stationery - Table Plans, Table Names and Place Names.  More about those next time as the wedding days pass but I wanted to show you some gorgeous Thank yous we recently created for a lovely couple who got married just before Christmas last year.  We did a great job of their snowflake invitations in a beautiful rich purple, silver and diamantes and then lovely table stationery which they were very pleased with. So it's time to thank their guests with these beauties. A lovely photo, they got married at the beautiful Cooling Castle Barn in Kent as can be seen in the background.  The Bride & Groom,  Abby & Daniel looked very lovely on their day and we wish them all the best for the future.

Late again ....!

I am finding it impossible to keep up with this blog due to the fact that we have so many lovely designs to do and orders to fulfil, this time of year is always manic for us right up until May/June time when our enquiries are less frequent and all our colleagues, other wedding supplier friends are in the thick of the wedding season by then!  Odd how that happens but that's the way it is with wedding stationery.  As I always say, no invitations, no guests!!

So we've been doing some beauties for some really lovely couples these last few weeks for weddings in May right through to October being the latest so far.  I thought I'd show you some photos of our work.  So pleased with Clair & Steve's cream semi-pocketfolds, they looked so classy once they were all complete.  And another two couples that didn't know each other, decided on silver glitter and baby pink.  Both couples were so pleased with them - see our reviews on our facebook page - we were chuffed to bits! www.facebook.com/penniesfromheavendesigns

Here's some photos - enjoy!

The first are are the pink ones, the diamante hearts really stand out and we just love the baby pink ribbon, lovely to work with.

These are some evening invitations that matched the baby pink ones, silver glitter strip embellished with little diamantes - perfect for your evening guests!

These are Clair & Steve's, understated, yet classy with an oyster colour ribbon and a gentle embossing detail.
So off we go to Darenth Valley Golf Club on Sunday 10th April for our third wedding fair this year.  We love doing wedding fairs, meeting some really lovely engaged couples and discussing their whole theme/scheme and how they imagine their wedding to be.  Exciting!  So if you are off to the wedding fair, do make sure you pop over and say hello, we'd love to meet you!

Happy New Year (Better late than never!)

Here's to 2016 ....

Wishing all our couples and readers a very Happy 2016.  January wasn't a great start though with legendary celebrities falling, they say it happens in threes but there's been many more than that so far.  Let's hope it stops right there.

Just some of our designs
We attended our first wedding fair of 2016 at The Elite Venue, Gravesend here in Kent.  It was run by someone we now consider a friend, Sonia, who certainly knows how to organize a good wedding fair! Thanks Sonia! We did enjoy the day and we are looking forward to the next one at The Alexandra Suite in Swanley on 28th February.

We had lots of our designs on show and we took smaller versions of some of our Table Plans with us too.  We always try to add something different to each fair and we certainly have a lovely display planned for 28th February - something, let's say, a little different! You are welcome to come and see it, we love meeting new couples and putting faces to names and hearing all about your forthcoming wedding plans.  We will run another competition to win one of our personalised guest books so do come along and get an entry form at our stand.  You never know, you might be a winner!
